Our kayaking launching destinations vary each week with opportunities to see and experience new water life. Kayakers will meet at the designated meet up location where they will then either caravan/carpool to the launching site. A/B city parking sticker may be needed or cash/credit card for meter parking at certain launching locations. Trips last about and an hour and a half followed typically by a group lunch afterwards-Dutch treat.

Kayaks, life jackets, and paddles are provided. Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet. Bring a towel, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, and a sense of adventure.

Space is limited and offered on a first come basis. You must sign up in person at the Sanibel Recreation Center. Registration opens two weeks before the trip date. To allow everyone to enjoy this benefit, only two trips per person per month are allowed.

There is a $5 fee for Island Seniors Members or $20 fee for Non-Members, which is payable in advance at the time of sign up, cash, or check only.

Center 4 Life memberships are $20 per year and can be purchased at the Rec Center.
